"VERLAC" is a process developed and
patented by VFA Textilveredelung for the
weighting or loading of silk. During the
absorption process monomers are con-
verted to polymers. This pro-cess favours
the weighting of the silk thread above par
by up to 50 percent. Thereby improving
the critical properties of the silk; abrasion
resistance is increased by up to 60 percent
and the short-term water absorption c
apability undergoes essentially positive
changes. These optimised characteristics
are especially esteemed in the wearing of
underwear, outer clothing and socks. Since
the mideighties, when the "VERLAC" process
was developed, we have treated very large
quantities of pure silk with "VERLAC".
Present day silk finishing is based on our
know-how and on proven processes and
recipes.

It is the high brilliance in the dyeing of silk
which characterises this natural product.
Shades of all kinds, gentle and subdued or
bright and lustrous are introduced to the
silk in our dye works in a multistage process.
